Metro investigating murder-suicide in east Las Vegas

A man fatally shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself early Saturday during a domestic disturbance in east Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

Metro received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 5000 block of Haystack Drive at approximately 3:28 a.m. Saturday. A female caller told dispatchers a man was armed with a gun, police said.
The neighborhood is near Tropicana Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.
As officers arrived at the scene, they attempted to enter the house and heard a possible gunshot from inside, according to police.
After entering, officers found a man and a woman with apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
Detectives determined the man killed his girlfriend before shooting himself, police said.
The deceased will be identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
